Kyle Schindler, Genesis BCS

Kyle Schindler

Genesis Business Communication Solutions, a leading provider of communications technology, is proud to announce Kyle Schindler as Director of Sales, a new position created primarily to train and manage the growing Genesis sales team.

Because of the unique Genesis culture, which encourages the sales team members to act more as advisors than sales sharks, Schindler faces the tricky task of growing energetic and “hungry” sales staff into trusted consultants for its customers.

It’s a culture that Schindler understands deeply – and with good reason: he’s the son of Genesis Founder and President, Debra Schindler-Boultinghouse, and the nephew of Executive Vice President Brad Petrasek.

“Kyle’s always been a kid with a good head on his shoulders, but it’s been fun to watch him grow into a hard-working young man, and a sales rep with both integrity and a real gift for working with people and earning their trust,” Petrasek said. “I’m excited to see him take the next step in his career, and I’m confident he’ll succeed.”

Schindler’s record speaks for itself. Since he started at Genesis over four years ago he’s won two of company’s biggest accounts: the City of Corsicana, a town south of Dallas, and Pacific Drilling, which has hundreds of employees in Houston, as well as a presence in South America and on vessels in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. Others notable accounts include Tana Exploration and Houston Racquet Club.

“While we’re at work, he’s a Genesis team member, and I hold him to very high standards when it comes to work ethic and professionalism,” Schindler-Boultinghouse said.  “I think in a lot of ways I’ve been harder on Kyle than any of the other employees, which really illustrates how he’s earned this promotion of his own merits.”

Schindler’s first task will be to grow the sales team by as much as 50% over the next several months in order to meet Genesis’ ambitious goals for company growth. It’s a charge that will test not only his personnel management capabilities, but also his ability to teach the lessons he’s learned as a sales rep, and instill the Genesis mindset of honesty and integrity into the brains of new sales team members.

“I think it’s always a good thing when you can approach a change like this with a solid confidence level,” Schindler said. “It is a big task: but even bigger are the implications for Genesis BCS. I’m seeing an energy and sense of momentum around the company that I haven’t seen since I was a kid – and that’s a feeling that’s been confirmed by Brad and my Mom. These are exciting times for Genesis, and I can’t say how energized I am to have a bigger role in turning my mom and uncle’s dreams for the company into reality.”

Those dreams are being expanded upon even as Schindler steps into his new role. Last year, Genesis created a structured cabling division which has brought new vigor to the company. Unlike the experience of many companies as they delve into new industries, this one has gone largely according to plan.

“There have been hiccups, no doubt about that, Schindler-Boultinghouse said. “But we’re seeing deals come through and projects get under way just like I had hoped.”

A more superstitious leader may be tempted to knock on wood after a statement like that, but Schindler-Boultinghouse credits faith in God, a strong company foundation and organization structure, and a great team of employees for the success of the new division so far.

“The stars seem to be lining up in really positive ways for us,” Schindler added, “and I think without a doubt the leadership Kyle will bring to the sales team on the telecom side will be another energy boost.”
