We here at Genesis BCS love what we do. We also have an undying appreciation for the beautiful city of Houston. John Beddow, Publisher at Houston Business Journal, recently declared what he loved about the city of Houston, and so, we were inspired to do the same! Here’s what some of our fellow employees at Genesis had to say about the great city! –
“Between no state income tax and virtually no zoning in the city, there’s no place better to live and work in the 21st
century.” – John Beddow, Publisher, Houston Business Journal
“Houston is like the sky’s the limit North, South, East, West—a lot to do for ppl all ages, friendly with our own team such as Houston Rockets (Basketball), Houston Texans (Football), Houston Astros (baseball), Houston Dynamo (soccer), Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo), Crawfish festivals …so much to do downtown, Galleria, The Woodlands and the list goes on..Except for the bad hair days— Humidity!”– Delfina Rodriguez, Financial Administrator, Genesis BCS

“What I love about Houston is the fact that no matter how big you think the world is it is actually a lot smaller than you think. My family and I know this very well….” – Ron Stanford, Service and Installation Coordinator, Genesis BCS
“Being so new to this city and learning so much has made this city come to life for me. As an outsider looking in, I always viewed Houston as the city that probably smells like fumes and filled wit h subpar sports teams. It wasn’t until I started researching into this city. My brother moved here two years ago and his life changed drastically. For the first time in years he sounded so happy and excited when I talked to him. I felt like I was trapped in the dreary, daunting North. The economic statistics floored me. For years now, everyone in the north is convinced this country cannot thrive any more. Texas alone says otherwise. Not to mention their case is a strong one. Ever since I got here, my life has changed for the better. I feel like I can breathe for once and the people have been nothing but loving and generally happy to meet me. I have never felt that before in my life. So, all that being said, I love Houston because Houstonians love Texas and love America and they are honoring our nation’s history by looking the economic downfall in the eye and fighting it tooth and nail. Blessed to be here.” – Kyle Mayer, Senior Account Manager, Genesis BCS

“What I love most about Houston is the rich history. Houston was founded on $9K after the Texas Revolution. The land was bought from one of Stephen F Austin’s original 300 settlers. The highlighted portion below is still true, one of the best places in the world to do business which was in mind when the city was founded.”
“On the heels of the Texas Revolution, two New York real estate promoters, John Kirby Allen and Augustus Chapman Allen were seeking a location where they could begin building “a great center of government and commerce.” In August 1836, they purchased 6,642 acres (27 km²) of land (on a site adjacent to the ashes of Harrisburg) from T. F. L. Parrot, John Austin’s widow for $9,428. The Allen brothers first landed in the area where the confluence of White Oak Bayou and Buffalo Bayou served as a natural turning basin, now known as Allen’s Landing. The “city to be” was named after Sam Houston, the hero of San Jacinto, whom the Allen brothers admired and anticipated to be the first President of the Republic of Texas. ” – Micah Granger, Senior Account Manager, Genesis BCS
