We have been talking quite a bit lately about cloud in regards to technology. Plan and simple this is where everything is moving towards. Its making things more simple, accessible and resilient for organizations. These are the same reasons why business phone systems are making it over to the cloud.

Traditional on-premise phone systems require everything to be installed, secured and located at your office.  This means you are responsible for managing, updating, maintaining and securing. Now for most business owners, they don’t want to do all of this. They have more important things to worry about like for say, running a business.

By switching and implementing a cloud-based VoIP system, as long as you have internet connection, you have a business phone. With cloud VoIP, your phone system is securely located at a data center and your vendor takes full responsibility for owning, maintaining and configuring your system. All you have to do is connect to the internet and your are up and running.

So beyond the reasons above in regards to cloud-based VoIP, lets dive into and elaborate on a few reasons as to why it might be a good idea for your organization.

Mobility

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, you have to be mobile in today’s business world. You need to be able to access and communicate from anywhere at any time. With a cloud-based VoIP system, as long as you have internet connection you have a  the ability to communicate. So whether you are at home or at a hotel on the road, you can be accessible as if you are sitting at your desk in the office.

Reliability

While running a business you need a disaster recovery plan. Being based in Houston, Texas we know what it is like to experience weather disasters. With on-premise, if a hurricane comes into town and your office is damaged you could be without office communication for weeks. With a cloud VoIP system if the same thing happens, you take your phone to your home and you are working as if your office was still operational. This is because your actual system is operating out of a remote location and was not affected by the disaster.

Growth

One goal for many businesses is growth. Business growth creates more jobs, which helps us establish a better economy. But your on-premise phone system hates this. Expanding on your on-premise phone system can be both stressful and expensive. Cloud has simplified this process and has made it easier on IT staff. With cloud when you want a new feature or increase the size of your system it’s simply a phone call away to your vendor. So when you grow so does your system, pain free.

Priority

Your business is your priority. Getting more customers, building relationships, developing new products, etc.. This is what you need to be focusing on, not adding a new line to your phone system. With cloud your vendor is maintaining and updating your system. This means no more added on problems for IT staff, your reducing cost and you are able to FOCUS on your business. Don’t bring on unneeded issues that are going to decrease productivity and increase cost.

The cloud-based model has become a perfect set up for businesses of all sizes. It’s helping businesses become more productive, more connected and more cost-efficient. It also sets you up with the latest technology to easily adapt to the ever evolving world of technology. Which we all know changes and improves every day.
