Everyone already should know by now that we here at Genesis BCS are in love with LED lighting and proudly offer it as one of our business
solutions. And why wouldn’t we be? After all, installing LED lighting is an overall win-win situation for the customer. In the long run, LED’s reduces the customer’s electricity bills and energy consumption. It’s also better for the environment because LED bulbs last longer, cutting down immensely on the need to replace bulbs. They also don’t emit an uncomfortable and lighting quality (flickering, on/off lag time, unnatural light color, etc.). So with better light quality that will last the consumer for a longer period of time, all the while reducing their electricity bills, it’s no wonder why just in the past year the number of happy customers that have purchased an LED lighting solution for their business has gone up exponentially.
Just last year, a rather familiar name to all Houstonians jumped on the LED bandwagon – The NRG Stadium, home of the Houston Texans and the Houston Livestock Show was equipped with a state of the art LED lighting solution for the entire field. Not only did the new lighting installation make the fan’s experience more vibrant and memorable, but also dramatically cut down on the stadium’s electricity bills by almost 60%. It was a great move for NRG, because in choosing to go in this route, they set an example of showing the importance of switching to sustainable energy.
Now one year later, NRG Stadium chose to add more LED to their stadium by installing a beautifully lit roof logo in LED lights. It’s most impressive because the stadium’s roof now shines bright and boldly with over 125,000 lights. And how big is the roof logo? Just an impressive 50,000 square feet that will now be seen during every event, game, or concert that takes place in the stadium. What’s even more impressive than the sheer size, or aesthetic appeal of the newly lit logo is that it only requires about 15 kilowatts of energy to be lit up. For such an iconic logo, that’s roughly the same amount of energy that would operate about 5 air conditioning units.
Talk about efficiency!
