When we think of business communications, we think of office technology systems, such as phone systems and video conferencing. But we have to realize that those who are most wanting to utilize these business communications options, are not always in the office. They could be anywhere from a car, to a plane when they need to work. They run around taking care of business aspects such as sales, project management, etc. They need to be able to work from wherever they are and remain as productive as can be.
It’s tough enough preparing a work environment with communication technology that allows everything to run smoothly. Making this environment mobile, is a whole new beast. It’s understandable to see that you can’t have the smooth communication you get from being in the office as you do on the go. But with today’s technology, we’re getting as close as possible to remote workers being just as seamless as if they were sitting in the office. Here are just a few simple things you can do to take your operations mobile.
First, find a source of cloud technology. Cloud technology allows you to pick up from wherever you left off at the office and continue working on it from any location. It allows you to connect all of your devices together within one network. With all of your devices connected you can now open your work from any of them and continue to work.
Today, finding Wi-Fi is probably one of the easiest things to do. Yet, finding a secure source can become the tricky part. Free public Wi-Fi networks are the most prone to cyber attacks. They connect multiple devices through one source, with little to no security. A better option is to utilize your mobile device as a hotspot. This basically turns your cell phone into a wireless router. While it is not the most secure, it at least allows for you to maintain your own private network. Did I also mention today we have Wi-Fi cars? I mean talk about turning your car into a mobile office.
Finally, make sure you bring along extra power. This is when it might be a good idea to invest in some charging packs. These are very compact and easily fit into any backpack, computer bag or purse. You could even buy extra batteries to keep fully charged. If you really need extra power and want to be green. They have created mini solar panels in which you can plug your laptop and mobile devices into.
After you have all of your office calls forwarded to your mobile phone, you should be good to go and ready to work from wherever you choose. Being stuck in the office, or stranded on the streets unable to work. You can now use these tools to work and keep up to date on your business, and remain as productive as you were when you left the office.
