We’re all pretty familiar with “smart” technology such as “smart” TV’s, phones, watches, etc. This type of technology is all around us and it’s clear that this is the direction in which technology is headed. So can products that are typically not “smart” adapt? Well, only time will tell. One thing is for sure, however, and that is that the people over at Sengled believed they could keep up with the times. They saw LED light bulbs as not just energy and cost efficient products, but something that could also be “smart.”
They debuted their line of “smart” LED light bulbs at the CES International 2015 and it was definitely a crowd pleaser! These light bulbs come with special add-ons. For instance, one of the light bulbs in their line doubles as Bluetooth capable speakers that can connect to your iPhone or Android device. Another light bulb can be transformed into an IP security video camera with facial recognition, microphone, and speaker! Oh, but it doesn’t stop there, because they even created a light bulb that is a Wi-Fi repeater, extending your network to any corner of your home or office.
Of course, some people may not be ready for such technology, and might want to stick to the traditional LED light bulbs, but it sure is interesting to see all that can be done with such technological advancements.
